Hand-Delivery Requirement

Why is there a requirement to hand deliver an application?

We are a college-preparatory local charter school that seeks to reflect our average local demographic. Formerly, when we allowed online applications, we experienced a disproportionate percentage of non-local student enrollment, with our student population reflecting an affluent 10-county area.
 
In evaluating this situation, we determined that affluent families often have a wider range that they can travel for an excellent education. We evaluated equitable solutions. Upon instituting our hand-delivery policy we experienced a notable improvement of local, diverse student enrollment.
 
While we may receive fewer applications than if we allowed online applications, the applications we receive are reflective of our local area (Franklin County and surrounding counties). This presents local families an excellent opportunity to attend a quality, local college-preparatory school.
 
We encourage any family that is interested in applying to drop-off an application at our school office or at a school information session.
