Title
Junior High Principal
Location
2045 Hicks Road, Youngsville NC 27596
Description
Youngsville Academy is a rigorous, classical, college-preparatory public charter school dedicated to forming young men and women of wisdom, virtue, and civic responsibility. Guided by our motto Esse Quam Videri (“To be rather than to seem”), we provide a joyful learning environment that cultivates the virtues of good character and equips students with exceptional skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic through a deep love of learning. Our non-Common Core, content-rich classical curriculum immerses students in the Western heritage of the liberal arts and sciences while teaching them how to think, preparing them for success in high school, college, and life. Serving approximately 180 students in grades 6–8 on our junior high campus, we seek an educational leader who will steward this mission with excellence.
Position Overview
The Junior High Principal is entrusted with the education and well-being of our 6th–8th grade students, the professional growth of the junior high faculty and staff, and the cultivation of a classical, college-preparatory environment that upholds the Academy’s mission. This is not a conventional administrative role. It is a higher calling: to champion a studious and decorous school culture rooted in the classical liberal arts tradition, to mentor teachers as classical educators, and to form intelligent, virtuous citizens who pursue truth, goodness, and beauty. The Principal reports to the Head of School and serves as the instructional and cultural leader for the junior high division.

• Oversee curriculum alignment, assessment, and academic excellence while fostering a love of learning that equips students with exceptional skills in reading, writing, arithmetic, and the broader Western tradition.
Faculty Development & Culture

• Build a collaborative team of positive, intelligent, hard-working educators who pursue educational excellence together, in an environment of mutual trust and support.
• Model virtuous living and support the ongoing formation of teachers in the principles of classical education.
Student Culture, Discipline & Formation
• Establish and maintain a peaceful, orderly, and joyful school culture that emphasizes intellectual and moral development, character formation, and the core virtues of fortitude, integrity, respect, and excellence (“On FIRE Behavior”: Fortitude, Integrity, Respect, Excellence).
• Oversee student life, discipline, dress code, extracurricular activities, and daily operations for approximately 180 students and 12 faculty in grades 6–8.
• Foster self-government, civic responsibility, and active leadership so that every student grows in wisdom and virtue.

• Serve as the primary advocate for the junior high program, building strong partnerships with parents through clear communication and collaboration in the common pursuit of forming virtuous citizens.
• Promote understanding of classical education and the Academy’s distinctive approach among families and the broader community.
• Ensure teachers are proactively and positively communicating with parents to foster an effective partnership between home and school, helping to engage parents in active support of the rigorous, classical, college-preparatory goals of the school, as we seek to form young men and women of wisdom, virtue, and civic responsibility.
