What makes Youngsville Academy unique?

Youngsville Academy offers a college-preparatory, non-common core education that focuses on academic and character development.

We strive to develop academic foundations which develop a student into a hard worker, critical thinker, and relentless pursuers of truth. We favor a holistic, classical, college-preparatory approach instead of the fragmented common core approach. We are motivated by a goal of teaching students how to think, allowing them to become lifelong learners, not what to think (indoctrination).

The values that the school seeks to instill include:

Fortitude: fearlessness, courage, and strength in tackling every challenge;
Integrity: manifesting the character of being trustworthy, honest, and of choosing to do the right things for the right reasons;
Respect: demonstrating respect for all persons with courtesy, cooperation, and helpfulness; respecting the rules of the common life of the school; respecting all property with its correct use and upkeep; and
Excellence: striving to do one's best in every situation/task.

For information about how Youngsville Academy is different than other local options, we encourage you to review our At-a-Glance.

As a North Carolina Charter School, we charge no tuition or application fees.

Information Sessions:
Information Sessions for prospective parents are provided each year to share information about the school and answer questions that parents may have. The schedule for Information Sessions is provided below. Space at information sessions is limited and RSVPs are required.
  • Elementary Info Session (Grades K-5) 12/10/2020, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
  • JH/HS Info Session (Grades 6-12) 01/14/2021, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
  • Elementary Info Session (Grades K-5) 01/12/2021, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Does Youngsville Academy offer tours? Yes! Tours are offered to families who receive an enrollment offer via the lottery. Families who are offered an enrollment opportunity will be provided with an opportunity to tour the school prior to making the enrollment decision. Due to the high volume of enrollment interest, we are unable to provide tours to all prospective families while maintaining the high academic and safety standards of the school. Prospective families are encouraged to attend an Information Session.
Lottery information:
The lottery application for the 2021-2022 school year closed at 4:00pm on February 12th.
One lottery number is assigned to each family. The lottery number is the first letter of the family's last name and the final four digits of the family's primary phone number that is listed on their application.
(Example: John Doe 919.123.4567 would be assigned lottery number D4567)
The lottery will be held on Tuesday February 16th, at 9:00am. Results will be posted in the news section of our website and will be distributed via email by Friday 19th.
Minimum age to attend:
State law stipulates that to be eligible for kindergarten admission, students must be 5 years old on or before August 31st of the enrollment year (G.S. 115C-364). Youngsville Academy does not accept any applicants who do not meet this requirement.

Does my child who is a current student at the school need to reapply?
No. Current students do not need to reapply. Families are requested to complete an Intent to Return form in January to help the school determine the number of seats available for new students
